From publisher blurb:
AN EPISODE FOR FOUR TO SIX WANDERERS FOR THE PADDOCK SETTING
Once they turn ten, the more adventurous youth of Paddock spend time during the various seasons of the island traipsing around in their Troupes as part of the Wilderlanders, an organization founded sixty years ago by one Wildermaster Leif Bristlewing, a now-retired wanderer. Of course, most of the goodfolk of Paddock see this as absolute foolishness: why would anyone choose to go out of their way to spend time out in the wild without a soft bed and having to deal with terrible amounts of bugs and dirt? Well, the Wilderlanders do! From Gorbi’s Glaciers to the Orkano Wildlands, Troupes venture far and wide, living by the Wilderlander Code:
No rock left unturned,
No puddle unsplashed,
No book unread,
No cloud unimagined,
No road untrodden,
No path unwandered,
For we are the Wilderlanders,
We’ll wander wilder where we wanter!
Our episode follows the journey of up to six Wanderers in Troupe #15, under the close eye of Troupemaster Lennson, who is guiding his Troupe out to the rural town of Narble’s Hook in the Skooblund out on Bilby’s Point. Here, his Troupe will partake in the notoriously challenging Big Catch Badge, a Badge that only nine Wilderlanders have ever gained in the sixty years of the club. Allow the Wanderers to get to know each other and the other kids of their Troupe, starting our journey as the group leaves Tugabug’s Gut and makes the final hike to Narble’s Hook. Here, you can start to seed in pieces of the legends of Longfin, the most dangerous sturgeon in the bayou, the one that all fisherfolk fear. Perhaps one of the other Troupers has heard the story before and shares it with the Wanderers.
