A fanzine companion publication covering the Uz (Trolls) of Glorantha. Some of the material is drawn from material left out or cut from existing publications, the rest is by a variety of authors. Provides rich material on many aspects of the game world. An Issaries, Inc approved product, it came shrink-wrapped with a 12-page booklet describing the Cult of Kyger Litor for RQ3 (expanding and adding to the version that appeared in several official publications).
from the Back Cover:
Welcome to The Book of Drastic Resolutions, yet another fanzine dedicated to the world of Glorantha. Inside you will find five cults and fifteen cult outlines, plus notes on eight published cults. Articles on the geography, culture, philosophy, and mythology of several Uz lands are supplemented by stats for seven NPCs, twenty-five creatures, eighteen magical plunder items, and over seventy-five new spells and skills, most of which have never been published before. Short fiction, information on the morocanth, and several excerpts from The Gloranthan Encyclopedia by Greg Stafford round out the contents of this book. A must have for anyone who loves (or hates) trolls.
from the Drastic website (long-offline):
The third issue of The Book of Drastic Resolutions was released in November 1998. This long-awaited volume includes full cult write-ups for Kogag the Boat Troll; Crolar, Ancestor of Scorpions; Norag, the Cold Queen; Zugorteg, Goddess of the Dark Earth; the morocanth cult of the Dark Eater; and a plethora of Spirit, Hero, and Demon Cult outlines. Pages of troll myths, legends, geography, and culture are supplemented by A Troll Bestiary, A Treasury of Darkness (troll plunder), Fungi and Dark Elf Brews, and a number of troll and trollkin NPCs. Did I dare to print a new version of the Cult of Kyger Litor? Buy the book to find out!
This issue features a full color cover painting of Pikat Yaraboom by Dan Barker, full color back cover painting of the Jabugs by Simon Bray, interior art by William Church, Simon Bray, Makoto Hokura, Anglu Farrugia, Dario Corallo, and others, as well as maps by Lecia Badran-Doane (hint: she also did the map for Volume Prax). The featured author, unusually, is not Stephen Martin, but James Frusetta [Hail Jamuz!], who is something of a troll enthusiast. Other contributing authors include Greg Stafford, Shannon Appel, Eric Rowe, Sandy Petersen, and Jamie "Trotsky" Revell.
116 pages + a 12 page insert, $15.
