But with those pages you will be able to generate over 8,000 different weapons, and you will also learn to master the d12+d8 mechanic that allows for a mathematical range of increasing rarity of the items.
The system is simple to operate because it's just tables and dice rolls. But it creates complex results by layering multiple dice rolls together to generate a single unique item. It becomes even more complex with the d12+8 system. This method of weapon creation can be used to generate random treasure, stock magical shop inventories, upgrade enemies and generally exist as a source of endlessly varitable cornucopiea of weapons for your gameworld and PCs to generate and use at will.
Base stats and values of each of the 20 weapon types are included, as well as the value multipliers for the different materials they can be upgraded (or downgraded) into. This means you will be able to determine the GP value of each of the weapons you generate this way, which is useful for stocking the items in a shop or if your players want to sell them somewhere.
Remember, you don't have to roll randomly on each table to generate an item, you can specifically craft one based on your favorite weapon type, material, and bonus effect; with this method you can create the holy grail of weapons for your PCs.
Additional information on rolling a d12+d8 instead of a d20 on the tables is included. In short rolling the d12+8 and adding them together makes it so you're more likely to come across certain weapons, materials and bonuses, so your game world is not instantly flooded with hyper-powerful magic weapons as a result of using this book.
