The Glaives of the Grand were an elite fighting unit within the Grand Pariun’s army. They were renowned, feared, and it was thought their legacy would be eternal. The Glaives were however disbanded following a massacre of hundreds of innocent Diar at their hands. It is not known why the Glaives turned on their own. Some suspect malevolent Magical forces. It has now been over two hundred years since all thirty of the Glaives were rounded up and brought to the Grand Pariun’s justice. It was also ordered, secretly, that the offspring and immediate family of all members of the Glaives also be put to the sword.

The current Grand Pariun, Zurahira Tapaiti, has always been told that the word of her predecessor was adhered to. But in the dead of night, at the heart of Zuragir, screams echoing in the wind are reminiscent of the screams of the Massacre of Glaives all those years ago. Zurahira has awakened to news of fresh torment on her watch.
