From Introduction:
In The Clarion of Hon, the characters stumble across the bloody aftermath of a small skirmish. Orc bodies strewn around the battlefield are numerous but a string of dead adventurers indicate the monsters were victorious. Yet, despite clearly carrying the day on the field of battle, the orcs failed to plunder the bodies as is their wont. Instead, a gleaming horn lies on the floor, begging the players to pick it up. The horn is a strange magical item capable of leading the players into great danger if their curiosity gets the better of them. Little description is given of the surroundings, to make the encounter easy to drop into any fantasy campaign. As written, the encounter takes place in the woods, but the DM can alter this if necessary, it changes nothing about the essence of the encounter.
