From publisher blurb:
AN EPISODE FOR FOUR TO SIX IN THE ESPAMENA SETTING
The wanderers will begin in the city of Pavillera, perhaps they are comrades already– simply enjoying the evening breeze as they talk amongst themselves– or they’re strangers, minding their business as they all happen to witness the same event.
A tall, black-clad figure wearing a striking hat attacks a civilian– slashing at them with a saber. As the wanderers sees this, and hear the victim’s cries for help– they are impeded by the environment. A wall, and a precipitous drop, stand in their way. They may be able to scare off the attacker– but they cannot stop them before they run away.
Shortly after, bystanders arrive, one of whom is a judge by the name of Primalada Salamenico, who immediately questions the wanderers about what they’ve witnessed. As the victim is carried away by a few locals, Primalada explains that he is a witness in a court case she is to preside over. Whoever they just saw has been targeting witnesses for this case, one by one– and is yet to be caught.
The wanderers are some of the only people who have so much as glimpsed the attacker, and so, Primalada offers to reward them handsomely– should they be able to track down and stop the attacker before the trial, which is only a week from now.
