Description

The Dance is a two-player combinatorial strategy game on a plus-shaped board of 33 intersections connected by orthogonal lines and intermittent diagonal lines. Each player has five pieces, which begin on the spaces of two of the longest available parallel lines of intersections.

Each turn, a player moves one piece between two intersections along any connecting lines, or jumps over one adjacent piece belonging to either player to the empty intersection immediately beyond the jumped piece. If a jumped piece belongs to the opponent, the player then moves that piece to any other unoccupied intersection on the board.

Win by either getting one of your opponent's pieces in the very central intersection of the board while none of the opposing pieces occupy any of the immediately surrounding intersections, or by getting three (or more) of your opponents pieces in an unbroken line spanning the central intersection of the board.
