Creating a sense of terror is nigh impossible in a tabletop setting. Classic tricks that work in other fiction, like jump scares or gory scenes, just don’t work and often things that are scary in movies, like invisible or undefeatable monsters are just annoying. Because your player’s are just playing characters you won’t be able to scare your player.
Instead, when running The Days Before We Died, try to achieve a sense of horror.
