It has been years since the Battle of Grand. On that fateful day, a goddess died in defense of her people. Her sacrifice gilds the memory, but leaves a hole in the hearts of her people. They have rebuilt the best they could to honor her.
On a day of remembrance for the goddess, a portal opens, and a hoard of abominations pour out. They are Augments – warriors enhanced by the stained glass embedded in their skin. They strike down any who cross their path. As the people pray to their fallen goddess for salvation, another appears.
