Description

From the Background

Centuries ago, the demon Brukoren ripped a hole in the plans, tapping into the elemental plane of gigantism and using the infernal magics of the otherworldly dimension to grow much, much larger. The demon stood nearly 500' tall when he attacked the human settlement of Junalin. For days, the citizens of Junalin fought back against the towering demon, throwing everything they had at the foul creature in an attempt to protect their town and its people.

Finally, thanks to the intervention of the Umberstalk mercenary company and their warror-mages, Brukoren was defeated. A barrage of powerful spells, siege weapons, and the actions of a few heroes shattered the demon's defenses and silenced his rage and life. Brukoren fell to the ground, his death smashing parts of the town of Junalin to splinders and killing many in his collapse. The damage to the town was so great that is was eventually abandoned, with the survivors moving several miles to the south and leaving the corpse of the slain demon to rot in the elements.

It was shortly after the battle that a cult of demon worshippers set about transforming the head of the slain demon into a grotesque and vile fortress that would serve as their base of operations for many years. Using magic to preserve the head and transform much of it into stone, the cultists raised the head of the demon and, over time, changed wat was one living flesh and bone into a stone fortress that has withstood the pressures of time far better than its creators did. The cultists were eventually defeated, but even today their creation remains. It has passed through many hands over the years, and rumors have reached the PCs promising riches to those brave enough to clear the fortress of monsters.

The content is systemless and intended for most fantasy roleplaying games.
