Karthan Roh is a decadent port town ruled by guilds. There are guilds for every conceivable occupation, each banded together in a complex system of alliances meant to make sure no one guild gains too much power. However, in the last year that balance was shattered by rumors of a guild which has more power than the rest.
The longstanding trust between the guilds was broken. Unfortunately for you, your guild is the one the rumors claim has too much power. You know this to be false, but it is too late to protest your innocence! The other guilds have already taken action against you. And so you find yourself in your current unfortunate state.
The Dreamships are an ancient method of punishment. No one knows precisely when they first came into use. A simple circlet of unknown metal, when placed upon the brow, traps those who wear it in the realm of dreams. Or more accurately, a twisted yet nebulous dream version of Karthan Roh where the rules of reality are shattered, parts of the city fade in and out on a whim, and strange beings out of nightmares roam the town.
You and your fellow guild members wear these circlets now. You find yourselves trapped in a shadow version of your monumental city, trying to figure out two things. Which guild really has too much power? And can you propel yourself back to the reality you know?
