The Prophecy Will Be FulfilledThe Lost Prophecies speak of the Incarnate, a reincarnation of the Dunmer hero Nerevar, arriving in Morrowind to rid the land of a dark curse. To fulfill this prophecy, the Emperor sends an unknown and uncertain imperial courier to the island of Vvardenfell. Through a series of dangerous and magical quests, this unknown courier is transformed into one of the Emprire’s most enduring heroes.
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, more often referred to simply as Morrowind, is an open-ended single-player role-playing game. You begin the game as a freed prisoner in Vvardenfell with no identity, so you can feel free to create any character that you can imagine. Do you want to be a treasure-hunting pirate? How about a noble knight upholding the law? Or maybe a charming thief is more your style? The sky's the limit when it comes to how you decide to put together your character.
While the main story centers around the deity Dagoth Ur, who seeks to grow in power to overthrow the Imperial reign in Morrowind, the main plot often times takes a backseat to the exploring and questing that you can do in each town, cave, and part of the countryside that you find. This open-ended free-form style of gameplay is what sets Morrowind apart; feel free to play the game your way.
