Description

This game's subtitle, 'A playful introduction to the people and cultures of Africa' is perhaps overstating things. This game consists of rolling and moving around the board collecting things that are supposed to tell us about Africa (coconuts, tree, necklace, fish, mask, drum, hut...). Each player has a board with pictures of 9 of the 16 objects to be collected and rolls the die to move around the board and fill up her or his board. The only further 'complication' is that there are some arrow squares on the board, some pointing clockwise, some anticlockwise. It would appear that landing on these squares can change the direction the player is going in. Landing on any other square gets one of the objects, if its one the player needs.

This is intended as a child's first game. My copy is missing the rulebook, but it isn't hard to surmise the basic rules.
