To play The Enclave, you will need to find a bunch of sympathetic, imaginative friends who like to tell stories. The game works best played face to face around a table, but it’s also quite well-suited to online fora, long car trips, or even play by e-mail, as long as somebody can be trusted to take minimal notes and report honestly on all the die rolls. Given the pacing of the game and the number of turns that take place during the Ordeals phase, five players would be optimal, but a smaller number will also work fine as long as people are ready to think a bit more quickly on their feet.
