On the outskirts of the Hool Marshes, near the village of Bogspur, unsettling events are taking hold. Kobolds and lizardfolk, usually hostile to one another, have banded together in a series of peculiar heists, slipping away silently after each raid. Villagers are left bewildered and afraid, with no understanding of the creatures' intent.
Meanwhile, an ominous black dragon has been spotted gliding over the marsh, filling the villagers with dread as they wonder what dark purpose it might have.
Desperate for aid, Darlene Wishbone, Bogspur’s militia leader, sends a call for heroes, seeking those brave enough to defend the village from the growing menace.
However, there is more at work than simple theft. The kobolds and lizardfolk have allied in reverence to a dragon deity, Noxious, laboring to construct a shrine that will determine their fates under their god’s dark judgment.
As the heroes delve into the Black Fen, they uncover the cult’s plan to empower Noxious—and risk setting off a battle of survival with dire consequences for Bogspur and beyond.
