From publisher blurb:
Maps to ship wrecks, ledgers describing lost expeditions, tales of hidden caches of treasure ... these are the lures that draw adventurers from winter hideaways. The desperate have already lost themselves in the wilds and cold, rushing towards their last glimmer of hope in a bleak year. Wiser adventurers, perhaps with less to lose but still driven by the promise of a sure thing, invest in their journey up front. Durable maps, weather almanacs, entrail divinations, specialists, and scouts see much of the coin thrown at a quest. The most expensive scout in the business is Izrid the Unkillable. For a significant fee before a delve, and a small cut after, Izrid the Unkillable will scout a Maze and return useful intelligence about threats, traps, and points of interest. No one knows how he does it, sometimes he works alone and sometimes he has associates, but he never fails to deliver. His services are incredibly expensive, but his results are second to none.
Well... it's been a few days since Izrid was supposed to report back to camp. And given what the party had to contribute to fund this adventure, it looks like a sure thing just turned into a rescue mission. It's either that or financial ruin. But on the bright side, maybe Izrid has a refund policy? Of course, he has to be found alive first.
