The forests of the Known World evolve and change from season to season. The creatures that dwell within the forests therefore rapidly adapt in line with this. When these creatures outgrow their living space they go in search of more territory and larger prey. Some do this by land, most slither into the seas, but some take to the air. Rumours of winged beasts emerging from the great forest canopies and reigning down terror upon the surrounding lands were dismissed as rumour by the Diar overlords. The Diar lay claim to the notion of winged serpents in the founding origins of their nations, and have little time for those who claim to have sighted these great creatures outside the context of Diar domination. But more and more reports are arriving with the Grand Pariun of this very same phenomenon. Drakes, Dragons, Wyverns, and winged Markedons – those from the Five Parlas to the Kyran lands have all reported similair. Some reports are due to localised hysteria, but some are accurate.
