When the Fruuki were discovered by off world explorers these folk were primitive tech level wise, having entered a phase that was the equivalent of the early industrial era for most planets. The Fruuki jumped at the chance to get off their steamy, foul smelling world for a bit so that they could see what the greater galaxy had to offer. In order to pay for their transition into the star age many Fruuki hired their selves out as grunt laborers and body guards. Quite a few crime bosses jumped for the chance to employ the Fruuki for personal protection.
