The Gettysburg Campaign: June-July 1863

Game ID: GID0331659
Collection Status
Description

The Gettysburg Campaign is a game that recreates the Battle of Gettysburg, which was the de facto decisive battle of the American Civil War, at a strategic level.

Riding on the momentum of winning the Battle of Chancellorsville, Confederate General Lee planned a further offensive in the North. The targets were Baltimore and Philadelphia, and by capturing them, they were trying to discourage the North from continuing the war. Skirmishes began in June, and on July 6, the two armies entered into full-scale fighting at Gettysburg, where railroads and major roads converge.

Confederate players will lead three legions, while Union players will lead seven legions in the most intense battle of the Civil War.

Note: This game is the same as Gettysburg Campaign, which was announced in Command Magazine issue 7 and is now available as a PnP game.
