By some twist of fate, you have come in contact with a dragon so old that its legend predate to the dawn of civilization. This dragon is an elemental force, altering their breathe to produce terrifying effects that can level towns. For whatever reason, maybe to plea for your life or as a show of dedication to the dragon's cause, you have made a pact with this dragon, granting you the power to imbue your magic with its mighty flame.
This 5e compatible subclass includes the ability to breath fire, protect yourself with dragon scales, fly through the air frightening your enemies, and even eventually transform into a gold dragon yourself.
