Description

From publisher blurb:

You enter this landscape alone, every echo of your footstep swallowed by the oppressive quiet, punctuated only by the faint, eerie wail of the wind as it threads through the hollowed streets. The air reeks of decay, carrying with it the occasional whiff of burnt metal and sickly sweetness. Patient Zero is close—somewhere within these ruins. People whisper that finding them could be the key to salvation, or perhaps even a cure. Yet others insist that Patient Zero is a vessel of divine judgment, an unholy angel bringing only death and madness. Whoever or whatever they are, their presence haunts Haven like a ghost, felt but unseen, lurking just out of reach. This is a city of factions and feuds, a place where motives are tangled webs of fear, power, and survival. The Silent Order operates in the shadows, dedicated to uncovering the plague's secrets to secure its own grasp on the fragile remnants of humanity. They say the Order’s people will hunt anyone who dares to speak of Patient Zero, lest the myth be shattered and their power unravel. On the opposite side, the Hollow Flame thrives on devotion to a twisted faith, embracing the virus as a sacred message and Patient Zero as its prophet. To them, this is a pilgrimage, a holy trial through the halls of decay. And between these powerful factions lies a city in ruin, where gangs, scavengers, and those with nothing left to lose cling to hope by their fingernails. As you make your way deeper into the city, the silence grows thick with an almost palpable dread. The infected roam, not quite human, not quite dead, their hollow eyes reflecting nothing but an empty hunger. This plague is not just a disease of the body; it gnaws at the spirit, twisting minds and altering souls, as if the infection itself has a will, a desire. The sight of the infected is unsettling—a mirror of what you yourself might become if the hunt fails, if Patient Zero evades you. The city’s shadows whisper of the unspeakable horrors that Patient Zero could unleash if left unchecked, a darkness no cure can illuminate. But you are not here by chance. Whether driven by vengeance, justice, faith, or an unyielding curiosity, you seek Patient Zero not just to end the plague but to confront the very heart of humanity's darkness. You know the dangers—every crack in the pavement, every turn of a corner might hide a trap or an infected husk, poised to tear you apart. And should you falter, the Silent Order is waiting in the wings to collect your broken body, another testament to their power. Or perhaps the Hollow Flame will come to claim you as one of their own, a martyr of the faith.

In this Solo Adventure you assume the role of a Character in a Dark Science Fantasy setting. You will require The Haven Fallen Core Rulebook (CRB), and any associated Expansions you wish to use to assist you, along with a pen and paper or word-processing document, to play.

The story is set up with an Introduction, a handful of location details and a few pertinent Story Points. The rest is down to you and your imagination.

The Actions you take should depend on who and what you see, and how you wish to interact. Keep a record of your story and adapt it as per the result of each Action. As you progress you will see that you are behaving as your own Storyteller, creating the interactive world in which you are playing.

Use the Character Creation section of the CRB to create your Character and use the Storyteller section of the CRB to assist with generating NPCs.

Once you have familiarised yourself with the following few pages, you are ready to begin.
