Description
The Horn Bearer
A blasting sound rings through the camp, waking allies and striking fear into the enemies sneaking in. An enemy line braces for impact as a brass horn calls the charge. A signal rings through the mountains calling for evening prayers and shift changes. The warhorn has an iconic place on the battlefield, be it communicating orders, signaling a charge, or calling a retreat. Made of wood, iron, or animal horns, they have found themselves used around the world time and time again: Gjallarhorn, the mythical horn used by the Norse god Heimdallr; cornu, a brass horn used by the Romans in times of war and peace; and alpenhorns, used to signal herds and shepherds in the mountains, are but a few examples.
