The Josiah Game introduces students to the Bible in a way with which none of them are familiar. Some students will have had no experience with the Bible; others may be able to quote passages from memory. But almost none of them will have heard of Josiah and his religious reforms or, if they have, few will have thought about these reforms from a socio-historical perspective. This ignorance has one advantage: students do not yet know what to think about Josiah.
