The Kessel Run

The Kessel Run was an 18-parsec route used by smugglers to move glitterstim spice from Kessel to an area south of the Si Klaata cluster without getting caught by the imperial ships that were guarding the movement of spice from Kessels mines.

Due to heighten security and new blockades along the Kessel Run from the Empire makes it almost impossible to continue these runs. Manny smuggler seek elsewhere for profit while the gangsters are angry. Trying to recruit new pilots who will take the risk. The payment will be 50 % higher due to increasing demand and virtually no movement of spices.
