Publisher's blurb:
I couldn't refuse the offer of my old friend Parker, when he told me that he had something revolutionary to show me. Parker was a quiet person, constantly in his thoughts, but he was also the most gifted physicist I knew. I had not seen him for almost four years after he returned from an expedition to Antarctica.
I was taken to the middle of the desert, there was nothing as far as the eye could see. Nothing but a kind of antenna in the middle of nowhere.
And that's when everything made sense... it was happening underneath...
I was taken down into an underground complex that I can't describe. Some kind of screens were flashing everywhere I looked, the installation seemed to be made of materials I had never seen. In the center, the antenna was a kind of tube about 5m in diameter and about 50m high.
Parker finally welcomed me, with a wide smile. He was gloating!
When I asked him what it was all about, he exclaimed:
-"You remember the strange book I brought back from the expedition... I translated it! You can't imagine what I found there... All these advances, all this technology... All that's here is Them! And what you see here is a rocket!"
I didn't understand what he was getting at and I dared:
-"What is a rocket? What can it be used for?"
He simply answered me:
-"To go to the Moon, my old friend... To go to the Moon..."
