Description

Caught between Two Queens

Bestowed a cursed gift by a dying beholder, a novice party's quest to rid themselves of both the item and the demon it summons will take them into ancient and forgotten sites above and beneath the earth and ultimately into the heart of a subterranean civil war.

Part 1 of the book introduces East Wyk, an open world map with several standalone adventure locations for the party to discover and gain experience and renown. The adventure begins in Haverbrook, where a stormy night in a tavern is interrupted by the monstrous and mortally wounded beholder Zandrax. Pursued by drow, the party travel to the town of Morton where they learn more about the quest ahead of them and also discover they have a stowaway traveling invisibly with them, baby beholder Livian.

In Part II, with Livian's information the party travels to the Shifting Labyrinth, a mysterious mechanical maze in the depths of the forest. They also visit the Sunken Library, a lost repository of lore where a fearsome naga lies trapped by a yuan-ti cult.

At last in Part III they find their way to the Temple of Spiders, a sprawling drow megadungeon riven into multiple warring factions by the beholder's death, where they must negotiate their way between the two rival spider queens, Lady Poison and the demon Lolth.

With over 150 pages of content, 15 detailed maps, 30 new monsters, and over a hundred hours of unique and engrossing gameplay, this challenging campaign will take a party from 1st level up to around 9th level. The true legacy of Zandrax is the friends we make along the way!
