From publisher blurb:
Fifty years ago, the D-Boys exploded on the skateboarding scene at the San Boca Nationals, revolutionizing the sport with surfing-inspired moves and rock-star attitude. It's been fifty years since the championship has been held at this legendary site in skateboarding history. But it's back, and the D-Boys are going to strike again—only this time, it's not just skateboarding.
For millennia, the Deep Ones have dwelt in the depths off the coast of what is now San Boca, California, kidnapping, enslaving, and sacrificing the humans who lived nearby. Dagon, the bloodthirsty god worshipped by the Deep Ones, has been satisfied—and the Deep One Elders and their onshore allies have enjoyed wealth, privilege, and power.
POINT BREAK MEETS H.P. LOVECRAFT!
All of that is in danger. A rebellious faction led by one of the original D-Boys have rejected the ossified traditions of the Elders and the racist snobbery of the San Boca power elite. That doesn't mean they're any more kind or gentle. The D-Boys have terrorized San Boca, enabling them to acquire valuable real estate (with pools to skateboard in!), take control of the San Boca city council, and make the break around the crumbling Fantasy Florence Pier the most intensely local surf scene on the West Coast.
Dagon has noticed and approves.
DEEP ONES AND DISCO FLIPS!
Ex-FBI agent Johnny Colorado has also noticed. A legend in law-enforcement circles for breaking up the infamous Ex-Presidents surf gang, he attempted to infiltrate the D-Boys. It didn't go well. He's a prisoner now and soon a snack for Dagon. Meanwhile, Colorado's ex-partner, Angelo Papadopoulos, has put retirement on pause to find his partner (and get his hands on the meatball subs at his favorite diner).
AND TWO-FOR-ONE MEATBALL SUBS!
There's war in the streets of San Boca and blood is being spilled from the nightmare ruins of the Fantasy Florence Pier to the posh mansions of Jacaranda Heights. But there's always the promise of something tasty at the best diner on the Pacific Coast HIghway.
