Description

From Introduction:

Wizards the world over lust after the powers of dragons. To rule the skies, demand the worship of mortals, and burn the land below with the very breath from your lips — what could be more majestic and terrifying? But the magic of dragons is not a toy for any mere magician to manipulate as they please. It is dangerous beyond comprehension. Those who wish to become as dragons often do so, but not in the ways they wish for.

There are men who have achieved the form of the dragon, indeed, but there are also men who became trapped in between, destined to plague the world as some kind of man-dragon — no longer entirely a man, but also not yet fully a dragon. And yet, like most dragons in this world, they hunt desperately for magical stimulation, crazed by it, controlled by addiction. No longer gods, they become like rabid beasts.

But some call even this a trick of the dragon mages. If one may assume the form of the mandragon, why not use it to assault the authority of knights and nobles? How else will the wizarding class assume its supposedly-rightful place at the top of the social hierarchy except by dragging their martial betters down a peg or two? And why not show up the priests as well? For they are no more skilled at fending off such monsters than the teeming armies they give their feeble blessings to.
