And if she finds one, she'll take them back to her home in the Shadowfell, slowly transforming them into an unrecognizable creature of the shadow... and she does all of this, only out of her own, misguided motherly instincts.
The Mother is an entirely original concept for a monster that'll fit perfectly into any dark campaign you're running. I genuinely had this idea in a dream; I just saw the image of what this creature looked like, and I heard the words, "The Mother", and I knew that I had to make it into something. Your adventurers are bound to have an interesting time dealing with this creature. This is also the perfect opportunity to make use of the Shadowfell, a plane of existence in the Forgotten Realms.
