In a forgotten part of the Universe, on the far edge of the Galactic disk, an outpost of religious/scientific researchers have stumbled onto something really cool, and something really dangerous.

The Raklaw Psionic Institute has been researching an Alternate Jump Drive. For thousands of years, there has only been Hyper-Drive based on the Tenants long established by the Ancients. This technology has remained stagnant until first contact with the Terran Empire. A group of scientists and philosophers
decided to begin research into alternate forms of Drive Research.

A routine submission of Imperial Scouts ships were dispatched, and were never heard from again. By the third missing patrol, the sub-sector Commander began to be concerned. He placed a call for special research, and this triggered all of the appropriate signals at the ISS. This group of PC’s will be the ninth group sent into Raklaw in the last five Standard Years. They are
not expected to return…
