User summary:
The Portable RPG System presents the core rules without any setting or genre. Characters in the system have four Attributes: Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Charisma. Attributes have a numeric value ranging from 1-10, with 4-6 being typical. Players can either randomly generate Ability values using 1d10 or perform a point distribution from a pool of 24 points. Characters then select equipment.
Non-trivial Actions are resolved by rolling 1d10 and adding the appropriate Ability score and a possible modifier. This is compared to a target difficulty determined by the Game Master. Opposed rolls are used when an action actively is contested by another character or non-player character. Combat is handled the same way though weapons will add to the attack roll and armor may add to the defense roll (some armors absorb damage). Damage is tracked with hit points.
