Description

The Punic Wars is a two-player strategy game that takes place from the Roman landing in Sicily in 264 B.C. to the destruction of Carthage in 146 B.C. One player takes the Roman army and the other player takes the Carthaginian army.

Up to three wars can occur during the game. The winner of the game is the player who wins two of the three wars. In history, three wars were fought, but Rome won the first and second Punic Wars, so in game terms, the Roman player is the winner at the end of the second Punic War.

The core of the game is resource points, which represent the ability of both Rome and Carthage to continue the war, and the mobilization of soldiers; as well as card play, which recreates strategy and tactics. The aim is not only to win the war, but also to fight for the next war.
