Ever since the tragic, mysterious death of her husband, Queen Narcissa has secured her grip on the throne through wealth, sorcery, and terror. She surrounds herself with beautiful young maidens, who have a habit of disappearing, and none dare question her about them. But even the Queen fears the Forest.
Although the Forest supplies the kingdom with wealth, strange beings are said to roam the mountains and trees. Some have stories of being helped by kind and friendly spirits of the mountains, others have stories of being terrorized by the dark horrors that dwell in those woods. Some whisper that even the Queen's powers came from a bargin with the evil spirits of the mountains, and that those spirits are eager to collect what is owed them.
