From publisher blurb:
You’re an adventurer so you’ll want to explore the Rift Market. But, please, this is a nexus to the planes. Don’t enter without a guide! True, you’re brave and fearless, but with so many non-mortal s salivating to take advantage of you, you’re going to need some help. Most importantly - don’t get caught up with the Army of Light. You might think churches are always safe and, at first, undoing the work of the Godslayer sounds like a glorious mission – but, remember, the Godslayer made his mark long ago and history ever since is a result of his finagling. Change it? You might disappear your parents. Hire Embrious. He’s eighty, but shrewd. He’ll give you the back story on everything. And ask him about Grickle. You’re the good guys, right? That little half-demon needs mentoring. Maybe you can’t fix this world, but you might save the boy.
Toys for the Sandbox is not a module, it is not a campaign setting, instead it is a framework for GMs to use to reinforce their own imaginations. Sometimes players zig when you expect them to zag, other times they take your plot point into a back alley and leave it penniless and bleeding. Each week we present a new location with a map and some flavor text. In addition we add 4 NPCs with a bit of history and a few simple thoughts on how to stat them for whatever game you are playing. There are also 6 plot hooks each with 3 ways to twist them. Added to that there is usually a table or two filled with rumors and encounters.
