From publisher blurb:
The Wahid Sector, once a bastion of tranquillity and prosperity in the Known Galaxy, has descended into chaos. Across its vast systems, ancient oaths are broken, alliances crumble, and new threats arise, hidden in the shadows. In this corner of the universe, a fragile peace, forged by the ruling councils and kept by the Yarak samurai, is now threatened from within and without. The Yarak Order, a centuries-old fraternity of warriors, was once revered as the protectors of justice and balance, their honor code as sharp as their plasma-forged blades. They have always served as both soldiers and diplomats, their loyalty to the Sector’s people unquestionable. But now, even the Yarak feel the pull of darker tides. In the outer reaches of Wahid, crime lords and rogue warlords rise from the ashes of collapsed governments, staking their claims on planets rich with resources and power. Corrupt planetary officials, swayed by the allure of wealth, sell their loyalty to the highest bidder, while entire systems fall under the control of syndicates that value profit over people. For the Yarak, it is no longer enough to wield their swords in battle; they must navigate the murky waters of political intrigue, betrayal, and moral compromise. The rules of engagement are changing, and so too are the samurai. Some hold firm to their codes, while others find themselves questioning the price of their unwavering honor. At the same time, a far more insidious threat stirs from the ancient past. Rumors spread of forgotten technologies, lost for eons beneath the sands of desolate planets, reawakening in the hands of those who seek to reshape the Sector’s future. Weapons of unimaginable power, once thought destroyed or sealed away, are being unearthed, and with them, the potential to alter the balance of power in Wahid forever. The Yarak samurai, bound by their oaths, must stop these forces from tearing the Sector apart, but they are no longer alone in this fight. Rival factions, greedy corporations, and opportunistic warlords all seek to seize control of these weapons for themselves. The galaxy watches, waiting to see who will rise from the ashes of the conflict that threatens to engulf the Wahid Sector. For the Yarak samurai, every decision they make could determine not only their fate but the fate of the entire region. In this crumbling society, honor and loyalty are rare commodities, and even the most steadfast warriors may find themselves questioning their purpose. As the Sector teeters on the edge of collapse, one thing is certain: the way forward will be written in blood, sacrifice, and choices that could haunt the galaxy for millennia to come.
