The Spectral Belltower is a Tier 1 (levels 1st to 4th) horror adventure, in which the characters have to spend the night in a village about to be terrorized by the Specters of murdered priestesses from the nearby abbey.
The adventure is intentionally set up to allow you to improvise the events and encounters. The text gives you the Who, What, Where, Why, When, and How; and the characters enter the story as events are about to escalate to a new level. The local villagers have plenty to say about what they think is going on. When the bell atop the ruined abbey tolls, that is when the Specters rise.
This adventure does not require a balanced party or any particular classes. It is intended to challenge the players as much as their characters.
