How long since the darkness? The sun does not rise. The light does not shine. Forgotten horrors emerge from the abyss. But there are rumors. Deep sailors swear they’ve seen it, submerged in the cold waters below: a drowned sun waiting to be found. Beneath the recesses of memory and sanity, where forsaken caverns remember your deepest fears, beneath the moonlight, lower, lower still… Will you follow its siren song? Will you find the Sun Beneath?
The Sun Beneath is a cooperative, asymmetric 2-player game. One player takes on the role of the Cavern, and the other takes on the role of the Captain. With limited communication, both players work together to navigate the Cavern’s shifting tunnels, fend off Horrors, and investigate Rumors to locate the Sun Beneath.
Starting with the Cavern player, players take turns performing actions in sequence until the game ends, either when they win by retrieving the Sun Beneath Token, or lose by accumulating too many Fear Cards or when their Supply Deck runs out.
