Publisher's Blurb:
The Sword of the Bastard Elf is an epic gamebook adventure of ludicrous size and scope. It comes with a huge number of items - almost 180 of them - and, to save you time in keeping track of what you have and spare you returning to the item list repeatedly, they come in card form.
While you can get the cards here, they come with a few problems - the deck is huge and doesn't fit anywhere, it's kind of expensive to print and shipping outside the US is a little on the expensive side. So that no one misses out, I made this book. It features all the item cards in alphabetical order (with some bonus alternate card graphics which you might spot), plus 15,000 words of fun "facts" and hints and tips written across what would be the card backs in the print version and in annotations in the print & play PDF version. The PDF is also thoroughly bookmarked so you can easily find whatever you've picked up with a minimum of scrolling around. It comes free with the print edition if you order them together. This is a different and slightly more expensive version of the pdf which comes with the cards - those don't have the annotations and cost slightly less. You can find them here if you don't want the annotations and want to save a few cents.
Personally I think this book is a really good alternative to the cards - it looks nice, fits neatly in your bookshelf, has a LOT of useless information and jokes that weren't good enough to make it into the main book and doesn't cost very much. If you want you can even cut out all the cards yourself instead of using your work printer, or - worse - wasting all the black ink out of your own printer cartridge. I made a video which you can see below if you still have no idea what I'm going for here.
