Six scribes, each focusing on one of the prime attributes defining a person’s abilities, banded together to perfect the chosen ability in her own mind or body. The cultists tattooed their knowledge on sacrificial victims before draining their life force. As they did so, the skins of the victims dried and peeled away. Placing the fragile skins in a magical fire caused them to be bound into books, from which the cultists could share their knowledge with their brothers and sisters. Their temple awaits those willing to confront the evil within, offering forbidden knowledge ripe for plunder.
