From publisher blurb:

A Note to the Fate Weaver

A Twist in the Tale is a collection of scenarios for The Revenant Society: The Endless Loop Beneath the City, a Role Playing Game (RPG) for one Fate Weaver and two to four Revenants. If you are reading it, you are likely the Fate Weaver (FW), often called a Game Master (GM), and this book is intended for you, the person who will be running the adventure. If you are playing as a Revenant, or character, this book contains scenarios that will have spoilers for your adventure, so we do not recommend you read it.

In The Revenant Society: The Endless Loop Beneath the City, players take on the roles of Revenants: undead bodies with souls that have returned from the dead to right past wrongs. Their goal is to prevent the Shattering Event—a moment that has broken time itself. The Revenants’ deaths are tied to this moment. If they can find the Culprit behind their own deaths, they can determine what is happening to cause a Shattering Event. Until they do so, Revenants relive the same night over and over. If they succeed they will move on to the afterlife; if they fail they are trapped on this earthly plane, forever.

The game takes place in two settings — 1910s Paris, France or 1920s New York, United States — and delves into the history of those two time periods, as Revenants travel from one underground train station area to another within the chosen setting. Players will have to unravel the mystery behind their Revenants’ deaths and solve the case that needs to be solved, or else they will be stuck in the time loop forever.

The Revenant Society: The Twist of the Tale adds four new scenarios for game play.

Swan Song
They say music soothes the savage breast, but backstage at the opera, rival performers are immune to its charms. In this scenario the Revenants’ fates are tied to the Farvat Hall where The Opéra-Comique performs nightly. Will they be able to prevent this house of song from burning down…for the third time in its infamous history. Can they prevent a rising star from getting burned by the culprit? Will their investigation be a success or will it go down in flames?

The Building That Never Was
In the late 1800s steel framed buildings rising ten stories high gave birth to the name skyscraper. The architects who pioneered these engineering marvels were the titans of their day. Fast forward to the Roaring Twenties, where a new style known as Art Deco is all the rage. What happens when progress tries to steamroll over a New York City icon. Known in its day as “Burnham's Folly” the Flatiron building is a landmark, and the Reventants will have to stop the culprit from demolishing it in the name of progress.

Party Foul
Speakeasies are well and good for the hoi pol·loi who live in town. However, if you're the upper crust, you can have your hooch discreetly delivered to the manse of your choosing. There’s always a party in New York City, but tonight, this endless night, the Revenants are attending an invite only soiree – where murder is an unintended event – and they are not on the guest list.

When Luck Runs Out
Lucky Luciano became one of the most notorious criminals of his time. But before his meteoric rise to infamy, he was a lieutenant of Joe the Boss Masseria. One evening in New York City he was found by a patrol officer on Staten Island where his assailants had dumped him, presuming him dead. He was not, and was taken to the hospital. Who were they? What did they gain from his death? Lucky never told. But what if that culprit had finished the job? What if that twist in history was even worse than Charles Lucianio’s rise to mafia power? And how are you as Revenants going to stop it without resorting to violence yourself?
