The Wastelands rules are detailed in this comprehensive document. The document is available as a single (traditional) file called "The Monstrosity" or as scores of smaller files with single topics (e.g., single spells, etc.). While the contents of the two versions are identical, formatting issues make the multiple document version have a much higher page count. All documents are provided in DOC format.

The game usually is referred to as The Wastelands but occasionally is called The Wastelands LARP Utah to note the live-action play style and location. Early implementation of the rules system were referred to as Jhakarovah.
