From the introduction:

The adventurers start the adventure in Castle Zamak, a castle run by the paladins who work for the Great Gold Wyrm. Forces loyal to The Three attack the castle, seeking to seize the contents of the vault. The adventurers have all been drawn to Castle Zamak by dreams sent by the Great Gold Wyrm, and after helping to defeat the servents of The Three are tasked with the delicate mission of rescuing some missing paladins.
The adventurers’ quest will take them to a ruined village now overrun with undead demons, and then set them on a course that will see them clash with servants of the Prince of Shadows.
