It wasn’t there when you fell asleep. But it appeared in the middle of your wall. Even though you just moved here with your family, you would have noticed it before. The door doesn’t feel safe, but your hand gravitates to the knob anyway.
It’s unlocked...
An impossible hallway extends into the darkness. You can’t see what’s at the end. Your family is terrified, but you’re curious about what lies in the depths of your home.
You plan your expedition.
There's More to This House... is a solo survival and mapmaking RPG played with a deck of cards, a tumbling block tower, two 6-sided dice, and graph paper.
You are a new homeowner that discovers their home is growing and expanding on the inside. Even though you sense danger deep within your home, you're drawn to explore the new hallways and rooms that appear. You are alone. You can’t communicate with your family, and they aren’t able to reach you. As you venture deeper, your mental stability cracks. It’s not likely you’ll survive, but something draws you deeper inside.
Note: There are heavy themes of hopelessness, isolation, gaslighting, and death. If you are not comfortable exploring any of these concepts, this may not be the game for you.
There’s More to This House... draws heavy inspiration from House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski and short stories such as Brian Russell’s “NoEnd House” and Charlotte Bywater’s “Hidden Door”.
