Description

This Hard & Calcined Earth

Set in North Africa during 1940-43 the game is a campaign level card game.
It portrays the broad sweep of events and strategic issues surrounding the famous desert battles in a game that is different each time it is played.

The name is a quotation taken from the beginning of episode 8 of the famous 1973 Thames TV series "The World At War".

The game deals with all the complexities of the historical campaign yet is physically small enough to put it in your pocket and play it down the pub, on a train, or in the garden.
The rules are simple to learn but difficult to master.

With THACE events affect the outcome of the game but you always have some element of control.

The game provides an alternative, feasible history of the North Africa Campaign every time it's played.

It is, in other words, a campaign in your pocket.
