But there is a very special group of people who don’t have a past at all. Whether through their own meddling with time travel, or whether they were the victims of someone else messing with the timestream, in very rare cases some creatures find themselves unmoored from history’s docks, and left afloat in a reality that no longer remembers or acknowledges them.
Of course, there are forces at work that ensure that such anomalies are corrected, sooner or later, but in the meantime, these “timeless” individuals may find that there are benefits to being someone who doesn’t really exist, like being able to manipulate the flow of time, easily avoiding everyone’s notice, and passing through solid objects. Of course, unless they manage to restore their own past before too long, they run the risk of simply vanishing from reality altogether.
