Adventure Background
High in the mountains of Kalvar Tel is a remote fastness where Shalazar the Plaguemaster was imprisoned. In his day — a millennium ago — Shalazar’s hordes of voracious undead swept across the land, and for a brief time he set himself up as a conquering emperor. Before he could achieve his dreams of conquest, he was betrayed, brought low by a band of adventurers, and transported in magical chains to a craggy cavern where he now rests.
