Traditionally a part of the Southern Pacific, the Peninsula Corridor: San Francisco – Gilroy Route is now home to busy Caltrain commuter operations and freight services provided by railroading giant Union Pacific. The route extends 90 miles south from San Francisco and includes a portion of the UP’s Coast Line route from Gilroy to Carnadero Junction, and the UP Hollister Branch from Carnadero Junction to Hollister, California.
