Discovering a treasure chest is generally a cause for celebration to a party of adventurers as it usually indicates that they are about to be rewarded for their hard endeavours. And most of the time they are correct, they usually open the chest to reveal gold coins, jewelry, gems and maybe even some magic items. But Dungeon Masters can be a little sneaky and sometimes they will turn the treasure chest into something a little more challenging. But in my experience this usually means that the chest is either a mimic or that when a rogue tries to pick the lock of the chest it trips a hidden trap mechanism that springs poisoned spikes into the rogue's fingers.
This tome of treasure chests hopes to give the Dungeon Master some treasure chest scenarios that prove to be a little more interesting (and certainly more challenging) than normal.
