Adventure Background
A local temple has been ransacked. The priest claims that a group of wererats came up from the sewers outside of the temple, broke through the back door, and went about robbing the place. One of the temple guardians was killed in their escape, but none of the wererats were killed. No one seemed to have the needed silver weapons at the time.
Regardless of how the priest became aware of the adventuring party he has asked for their help. His temple was fairly wealthy, and he is willing to part with not only some treasures but also some divine blessings to return that which the wererats stole from them and make sure to avenge the guardians death.
What starts as a dangerous, but a normal mission, devolves into a fight for their lives against a powerful legendary dire rat.
