The game uses a complex and atypical character comprised of a troll, the troll's land, and possibly even a tribe of individuals. While it might appear that the troll is the character and everything else is a sort of resource, this is not actually correct. Character creation involves distributing dice among the troll and the tribe. Dice pools in the game are color-coded depending upon the type of land which identifies the character. Other aspects of the land also influence the number of dice available for the pools.
